Heartfelt Testimonials from Families

I’m writing on behalf of my son who was diagnosed on the spectrum at the age of 3 years. He was not playing as our other child did at the same age and had no speech or eye contact. We were not sure what to do and our insurance company gave us a list of ABA services. We chose Applied Behavioral Learning Group and since they came into our home to work one on one with our son, we have seen remarkable changes in him. You can’t imagine how life changing it was to hear our son say “mommy and daddy” for the first time. ABL group staff helped our son accomplish so many of the milestones that he was behind on. We are grateful for their support of not only our son, but our entire family. They even include our daughter in sessions so our children can learn how to play with one another. We will continue to thrive as a family with ABL group as part of our family.
THANK YOU!

We have been working with ABL Group for a little over a year now and are seeing so much progress in our daughter. She is almost 6 and has been refusing to be potty trained. Her teachers at school have tried several things that were supposed to be “the answer” if we do our part, and nothing had worked. The staff from ABL Group would not give up on helping us encourage our daughter to go potty and be ready to wear big girl panties. It happened when the ABL Group staff introduced a toy that did it for our daughter! We let her play with this toy when she uses the potty and it worked. No more diapers! Wait until school starts and our child’s teacher can see what a great summer this has been for our daughter and our family!

When I chose ABL Group, I had no idea how they would manage to provide services to our boys when my schedule is as hectic as it is. I am pleased that they are flexible and willing to meet me where my schedule can accommodate people in my home several times a week. They have well trained staff that not only understands how to effectively communicate with my boys, but they have helped me to more easily communicate with them. ABL Group provided a specialized program for each child that was specific to each of their needs. ABL Group truly cares for the children they work with and that includes their siblings and classmates. I was happy to have them help me advocate for their needs at daycare and now school. ABL helped us all through the pandemic by continuing services through telehealth. I can’t imagine going 2 years without support and because ABL was on point, my boys and I had the critical support that we needed to continue to progress. We all have a brighter outlook on both of my sons future as well as mine as a busy Mom.

After a serious accident, I was told that my son would never play, feed himself, walk or do anything that you expect when you have a child. He was injured as a toddler and up to that point was babbling, walking and doing everything on target for his age. When he was 4, had no verbal language and was having tantrums so severe that he was hurting himself, that I knew that I needed help. I contacted ABL Group and the came out and assessed my son and created a program just for him. We have had to go at his pace which has been a challenge because he also has a serious seizure disorder now too. The staff at ABL Group has been patient and well informed on working with my child no matter what sort of day he is having. We were able to potty train him in one week at the age of 5 when the doctors told me he would never be able to do this. He feeds himself, washes independently, brushes his teeth and choses his clothes all by himself. Our ABL Group staff taught him by using his interests and he can name all the States and National Monuments, he recognizes flags from all the States and many Countries. I can go on and on with what he can do now even when I was told to have no expectations for him at all by his doctors. My son is now entering High School and the care and support from ABL Group has meant the world to me. I am aware that my son will need support for his whole life, but with the support and genuine interest that ABL Group has provided over the years, I have hope for his future.

What can a parent do when their child is so aggressive and impulsive that he gets kicked out of not only school, but birthday parties. My child was diagnosed as Autistic and ADHD and every day has been a struggle! I was a mess because my child had no friends and even his teachers were losing their patience. I learned about ABL Group through my pediatrician because like me, he disagrees with medicating children. He gave me the brochure for ABL Group and I called them the next day. The BCBA and staff came out and observed my son and were able to engage with him immediately. My son looks forward to his sessions and doesn’t want his staff to leave. The aggression has decreased and his ability to be less impulsive has gotten better. His teachers have seen a completely different child and that makes a huge difference when having “good choices” days. He was able to have his 8th birthday party at the park with all his friends and no meltdowns. Thank you ABL Group.

ABL Group has been working with my son for several years and they have helped him to overcome some of his difficult behaviors. My son had no fear of anything and was not safe to be unsupervised for even 5 minutes. ABL Group staff worked with him 5 days a week including helping me to calmly manage him in public. We had never been able to go to a movie or to the store without screaming and tantrums. The staff not only worked with my child, but taught me ways to manage my son on my own without tears from either of us. ABL Group has over the years helped us with my son’s behavior, but his educational need too. I have been able to get help from ABL Group to go with me to my son’s IEP meetings so he gets the support he needs in school.
